Dear Melina; Caught In A Love Triangle



Dear Melina,

 Seven months ago I met a great man, but after we had several dates, he told me he was married and that his wife had left him over a year ago. He told me he didn't love her and had been forced into the marriage. 

 We started seeing each other several times a week and began sleeping together. He recently asked me to marry him when he got a divorce. When I said I would, he told several of his friends I was going to be his new wife.

The other day his wife came to him, begging him to take her back. As he had a date with me that he intended to keep, she came with him. Can you believe it? The whole time we both had to play it cool so we would not upset her! 

 He tells me not to go out with other men but to wait for him. I love him, Melina. He has so much going for him and is what you would refer to as a high status man. 

What do you think I ought to do? I know he loves me and I love him but will he really get a divorce now that his wife is spending time with him and wants to be back with him again?

Hello dear heart.

First of all, I can assure you that this man is not a high status man. A cheater or philanderer lacks honesty, integrity and loyalty, for a start. There's also an old but wise proverb to the effect that it's good to be rid of an old love before being with a new one. 

 Before allowing yourself to become even more deeply involved with this man, you'll need to be absolutely sure that you want to take another woman's husband away from her, and bring some definite nasty karma upon your head! 

 Do you really want to reap the negative karma that will follow? The Bible says that whatever a person sows, that they will also reap.  

 As a Christian I could never condone adultery, or suggest to you that this man should leave his wife. 

You should also be aware that this man's real intentions concerning his wife and divorce may not be what they seem to be. 

 Some men with naive wives find a situation exactly as you have just described as a most convenient camouflage for extra marital affairs.

 I really hope that you'll think seriously about this.

  1. Perhaps I prefer a bit more of an Alpha male, but what type of man brings his soon-to-be ex-wife on a date? If he really wants that relationship to be over, why is he even allowing her to try to convince him to take her back? Some food for thought..

  2. Good answer, Ms. Melina. I appreciate that you told the truth kindly but straightforwardly. I definitely agree that a man who will sleep with a woman not only before his marriage to her but DURING his marriage to someone else is NOT a high status man! What a sad world we live in if women think that is the best kind of man they can find!

    I have a question, but not one to be answered in the format above. If you haven't already done it, could you write an article sometime about the dangers of emotional attachments that arise from pre-marital sex? I think many women/girls are oblivious to this; I, for one, was. Thanks for your consideration.

    1. You are so very right Tabitha. Pre-martial sex is the enemy to everything good inside of a person. It robs you, damages you in a way that you'd never allow anyone else to damage you. It's a reason the older generations called a girl/woman "spoiled" when referring to a girl/woman who wasn't a virgin. The sex act itself is divinely inspired of God. It's beautiful and pleasurable. It's the joining of two souls in union with God and Christ. You take vows first then you express your deep feelings for that person when you engage in intercourse. Whenever you do anything contrary to Divine order one must expect chaos and discord. No matter how hard it is to abstain you must in order to save your very soul from the most imaginable hurt. Once you are bonded that deeply with another you have no choice but to become linked. How people can "link" up with so many is beyond me however in the deep recesses of their inner being they must feel empty.
